This Fall we will conclude the series: “Who Are Stamford’s Children.”
On September 25, Kate Lombardo from the Food Bank, will address the needs for healthy and nutritious foods for our lower income children and their families.
On October 2, a representative from Neighbors Link, will address the challenges for children in Stamford’s immigrant community. This new organization, which was our summer “Change for Change” recipient, works with immigrants living in our city.
October 16, will bring a look at the medical concerns of our city’s children with representatives from Family Centers’ School Based Health Centers. Located in six middle and high schools in Stamford, the Centers provide medical assessments, physicals, screenings, dental care, mental health counseling and other services to 1,900 students each year. The Centers are staffed by licensed nurse practitioners, medical assistants, dental professionals and social workers that specialize in child/adolescent health.
Beginning on October 23 there will be a three-part series on the Death Penalty.
October 23 - The Death Penalty: Background and History
November 6 - The Death Penalty: Pro
November 13 - The Death Penalty: Con
In January, our Rabbi in Residence, Phil Schetcher, will lead a two part series on two of the giants in the history of the Israelites.
January 22 - A Look at Moses
January 29 - A Look at Elijah
All of these events will take place on Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel.
